There need to be ‘sensible conversations’ about lifting wages: Plibersek

Environment and Water Minister Tanya Plibersek says one topic of importance at the upcoming jobs summit is how we can see improvements in wages. “Australia’s coming at the end of years of flatlining wages, in fact, real wages going backwards because the cost of living is outstripping wages growth," Ms Plibersek told Sky News Australia. “We need to have sensible conversations about how we lift wages and that includes of course improving productivity for businesses. She said when businesses are making more money, they should be "paying their workers better wages".
