Media Server.avi

How to serve media. You can also use your computer to serve media via PlayOn, or Tversity. I have done all 3 and this was the best solution because it is not dependent on the computer being on. I can turn off my computer and still stream media without the overhead. PlayOn and Tversity are great ways to start learning how to though. You will also need a DLNA enabled device connected to the TV. This can be a Blu-Ray player, PS3, Wii, WDTV, or anything you choose. The newer BD players are Wi-Fi enabled with access to the 5ghz N network and are a super, super deal right now. Also if you don't want to stream, many of the new devices also allow you to plug in a portable USB drive with all of your files and they will play from there. 500 Gb WD drives are also cheap. That's how I started all of this and worked up to what I am doing now.
