The Quint: Geeta Phogat’s Trainer PR Sondhi Reacts to Evil Coach in ‘Dangal’

PR Sondhi, who was one of the coaches of the Indian wrestling team during the 2010 Commonwealth Games, reacted to the coach which was portaryed as evil in the film ‘Dangal’. In the movie, the Indian wrestling team’s coach during the Commonwealth Games, sends a person to lock Geeta Phogat’s father Mahavir Phogat in a room before the wrestler’s gold medal match, so that he cannot watch his daughter compete in the final. However, PR Sondhi clarified that the incident never took place. Sondhi added that, he is not going to take any action against the makers of the movie, but he said that Aamir Khan should have spoken to him about the coach’s role before the movie was made.
