ProCase for iPad Air 4 - Lightweight Case? Let's find out ...
The specs for the iPad Air 4 ProCase say 140g, which sounds pretty lightweight.. but is it? Let's find out! Turns out the specs are wrong and it's substantially heavier! So what are the lightweight options for the iPad Air 4 since there's never going to be a Smart Cover (which I discuss in this video; https://youtu.be/RvuQLaanYXM). In summary.. the weights (on my somewhat inaccurate kitchen scales) of the various cases I looked at are; - iPad 2018 9.7" ProCase: 185g - iPad Air 2 2014 Smart Cover: 80g - iPad Air 4 2020 ProCase: 240g - iPad Air 4 2020 Smart Folio: 175g (according to a forum post) 0:00 - 0:22 Intro 0:22 - 1:39 Weight Check 1:39 - 2:03 Pricing 2:03 - 6:23 ProCase In Depth 6:23 - 7:12 Weak Magnet Warning 7:12 - Wrapping Up Update: Due to the weight in the listing being totally wrong, I'm actually sending this back today. It's still worth considering if you want all-round protection for your iPad Air 4. The weight is actually quite similar to other folio-like cases by Moko & others. Apple's Smart Folio is the lightest I've found so far.. at ~180g - it's just at a price that's hard to stomach! ;) I only recommend products I buy & would use myself, and all opinions expressed here are my own.
