Nikon AF 180mm f/2.8 ED review (relative to the AI version)
A continuation of the review I did a few months back of the 180mm f/2.8 AI version of this classic prime lens. Some say it is too long for portraits and too short for wildlife, but I absolutely love this focal length. In this video I explore the improvements Nikon have done between 1980 and 1992 when these lenses were produced. Table of contents: 0:00 Introduction 0:32 Comparing the spec sheet 1:37 Sharpness – center and corners 3:55 Bokeh 4:20 Sun stars 4:40 Aberrations 5:47 Flare control 6:08 Mechanical auto focus (AF) 7:04 Sample pictures 8:31 Conclusion 10:05 Extro Link to Flickr album with sample pictures: https://www.flickr.com/photos/frederikboving/albums/72157716122242093
