An Evening With Biotech's Best is a panel discussion with pioneers and experts in biotechnology. Dr. Leroy Hood and Dr. Marvin Caruthers pioneered radical new biotech techniques including DNA sequencing and chemical synthesis of DNA. Their work opened the door for the Human Genome Project and countless other medical breakthroughs. Both are recipients of the National Medal of Science, the nation's highest honor for a scientist. Dr. Andrea Armani is the Ray Irani Chair of Engineering and Materials Science at USC and the head of the Armani Lab. She is working on new ways of treating cancer with innovative diagnostic instruments. The panel is moderated by Andrea Belz the vice dean for Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship at USC.
