Intel i7 8700 non K throttling issue FIX Asus z370-e
UPDATE : If you noticed you can no longer change the voltage on Non K model cpus on the latest version of XTU the latest one I found that works with the 8700 is XTU-Setup-6.5.2.40 I have uploaded it here for anyone that needs it https://drive.google.com/file/d/1By1dQMW_6Q8A1rzVWKsUeId-hXcytIpm/view?usp=sharing Recorded with : https://amzn.to/2KVNjHa I have been having issues with my i7 8700 processor throttling since I purchased it I thought it was normal as its the non K model but have since watched various videos where it is not throttling.. I recently figured out a way to fix this issue after I posted a message on an INTEL forum and got a responce from an INTEL employee telling me that this is normal behaviour for these CPU's but surgested I could remove the TDP limit through the means in this video or via XTU or a program called ThrottleStop links below. I found that enabling the Xmp profile which turns off the TDP limit for overclocking via the bios then turning it back off then setting up the memory timings and voltage manually gave me better thermal results. However I was unable to undervolt the cpu via the bios without it causing it to jump much higher in benchmarks etc so i decided to use XTU for that purpose.
