Simpler: Painting with Only 5 Pre-Mixed Colors - Friday, Week 37 (02/10/2020)
Last day of our "simpler" week! Today we're painting with 5 pre-mixed colors! Our daily countdown has taken us down from 9 to 5 in the hopes of reaching a more fundamental idea of painting. Ok, let's talk about l'éléphant dans la pièce - Vuillard. I think I'm in love. I mean, I've always known this to be true, but this week, more than any other week in my life, I contemplated his work and OOOOFFFFF. He WILL be one of the most important painters in History. The shadow that was cast by giants like Picasso and Matisse on the 20th century was soooo deep, that it takes time for our eyes to adjust to realize how much of a genius Vuillard was. But my hope is that with time, Vuillard (and Bonnard let's not break up the tag-team) will be among the most important painters in History. This is prob an unpopular opinion, but I'd pick Vuillard-Bonnard over the powerhouses Picasso-Matisse. They're just closer to my sensitivity. There's no question about who affected the course of Painting more (P&M) but there is just something that feels like experiencing a hidden gem when we look at paintings of V&B. They almost feel our own. And well, I finished off the week with a simple love letter to Vuillard because i just realized that my heart sinks with each and every one of his paintings. "Masque ou décor, salut! J'adore ta beauté." Thank you ALL for your incredible support. Dani and I could not be more grateful. If you like what we're doing, please consider donating :) If you're in a rough spot, no worries, we TOTALLY get it! Just know that our content will ALWAYS be here, and our only sponsors are YOU, the wonderful generous people that choose to support us in some way or another. Thank you ALL!!! http://www.ourpaintedlives.com/donations
