"Transcendent medieval-inspired music" - Order The Lost Codex of Avalon II at DavidYardleyMusic.com
Order the new album at DavidYardleyMusic.com (launching in December 2023) Volume I was "transcendent medieval-inspired music for our times" in a 5-star review. And now Volume II is here! Inspired by my lifelong immersion in authentic medieval sound, my new musical works conjure lost music of the mythic isle of Avalon, from Arthurian legend. The Lost Codex of Avalon Volume II is a unique medieval and fantasy collaboration with some of Australia's finest musicians from The Song Company, the Sydney Chamber Choir and Pastance, joined by renowned medieval New York-based ensemble Concordian Dawn under the direction of Christopher Preston Thompson. On the album, you'll hear my music written to long-forgotten medieval sacred and secular words, whose music from their own time has not survived, including a number of lost medieval English Christmas carols. You'll also hear my music settings of evocative fantasy poetry, including Anne Casey's award-winning poems "Season of Brigid" and "Season of Samhain". Anyone who loves outstanding choral music, harps and troubadours, or medieval and fantasy worlds, will enjoy these new works. Please joine me in "a musical realm... [of] pure beauty" (Jennifer Gall, arts and culture reviewer), as we unearth The Lost Codex of Avalon Volume II. Order the album, find free sheet music, other recordings and join the mailing list at DavidYardleyMusic.com. Fantasy and Medieval Music For Our Times! ___________________ In this video, you are hearing the stunning sound of The Song Company, Australia's leading professional vocal ensemble, as well as a solo performance by my with a medieval harp.
