Cobra UK75ST, UK/EU (PR 27/97) 80-channel CB radio (Mobile, remote) - Transmit alignment
Richard Shireby, G0OJF, from TSG Communications near Grantham in Lincolnshire (UK) discusses & demonstrates the alignment of the Cobra UK75ST 80-channel UK/EU FM remote CB radio. These sets, made in 1999 to PR27/97 UK specification are unusual in that unlike any other remote type set I can think of - including the current replacement by Cobra (75STEU-multi), insofar as all the electronics in actually in the handset. All the others have a metal box resembling a conventional CB set, but without controls....and then a handset with the controls & display on it. Without a circuit or manual I managed to tune it up, but found the receive sensitivity a little disappointing. Other than that it works great. One other niggle is that in scan mode, it scans all 80 channels..rather than just the band you thought you were set to. Annoying.
