Assassin's Creed 2 Brutal & Creative Combat in Venice

Just game-ending a bunch of guards near San Marco. Making Ezio think on his feet to do some really cinematic moves. For the longest time I didn't care much for AC2's combat because of its perceived low skill-ceiling and how it steers most players towards spamming counter attacks. Though the more powerful alternative to the counter-attack is the parry and riposte, which the game never explains. The parry & riposte work as such that you parry an enemy's attack normally (high profile) and after the parry has left an opening you strike your opponent, staggering them. Once staggered you can perform a combo-finisher move on them, which insta-kills pretty much any enemy. Though the technique relies much on the quality of both Ezio's and his opponents weapon. The sword of Altaïr performs it flawlessly every time, but the lower tier weapons require a but of good RNG.
