Abstract: I will discuss the formation and subsequent growth of IRDiRC into an organization with nearly 40 public and private funder members who have collectively pledged over 1 billion euros for rare disease research. I will also present the goals of IRDiRC, the plan that has been developed to achieve them, and the progress that has been made thus far. Finally, I will explore how additional organizations can take part in this international collaborative effort
