How to calculate hardness of water in mg eq. of CaCO3 OR ppm. easy formula - (Amount of hardness causing substance(in mg/L)* eq. wt. of CaCO3) / eq. wt. of hardness causing substance I used the example of Ca2+ ions you can do it for any ion or salt , the only catch is to find its equivalent wt. first.
