This video introduces carbohydrates: classification of monosaccharides as aldoses and ketoses, their stereoisomers, open chain and ring chain structure forms, derivatives of monosaccharides and their functions, the glycosidic bond, structure and functions of common di-, oligo- and polysaccharides, and the structure of some polysaccharides, including starch, glycogen, dextran, cellulose and chitin.
