Lens Focus | After Effects Tutorial | Tekken 7 style

I remember seeing something close to this on an AMV 3+ years ago. What is really cool about this is the flexibility of the blurs you can use. The slight aesthetic of creating focus through emphasis and proportioning overall makes this very smooth. Set 2!!! This is the 3rd part of a projected 9part series. Just like with Dragon Ball FighterZ, these tutorials will cover the transitions used in my Tekken 7 productions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Project Files \\ https://icedrive.net/1/0f5P9PETW1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Track || Tatsunoko vs Capcom - Les Vegas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1qFREvDGeg -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Transcript : 00:00 || Intro 00:19 || Arrange your clip and figure out where you want the effect to take place then add a null layer and a camera 00:31 || Parent the camera to the Null layer and make sure the Null and clip are 3D enabled |*Add an adjustment layer above the clip |*Offset the Null layer back by *7 frames 00:49 || Adjust the position of the Null layer as shown |**Note: The keyframe spacing is as follows *0-30-23-60 With the *0 representing the 1st keyframe And the composition being set to 60fps |*Note: Because the Camera is parented to the Null It’s position will be moved along with the Null. 01:19 || Add fast box blur to the adjustment layer and set the keyframes as shown |*Note:The amount of blur is up to you. I find this to be more realistic and it works for me but you may have a different need 01:53 || Easy ease all keyframes and adjust the line graph as shown |*The line graphs adjustments are very subjective. This works for me but feel free to experiment and find what does it for you and your footage. 04:14 || Add a solid with whatever color(s) you want above the adjustment layer |**Note: This part is optional. Everything pertaining to the camera effect has already been demonstrated 02:29 || Add a mask to the solid and adjust the feather and mask as shown |*Note: To prevent the footage from being shown under the solid, make sure to extend the edges beyond the boundary to counter the feather value 02:44 || Transition Complete #fgc #tekken7 #aftereffectstutorial #editingtutorial #esports
