Xbox One SSD Upgrade Measurement - Cut down load times on games like Battlefield 1!!!
WE CUT AN ENTIRE MINUTE OFF OF LOAD TIMES!!!!!! XBox HDD load time... 1 min 29 sec Usb 3.0 SSD load time... 29 sec This is a quick video of me installing an SSD on my Dad's Xbox One, so he can play the Battlefield 1 campaign offline, before he faces the onslaught of online multiplayer. Microsoft Xbox doesn't put solid state drives (SSDs) in their factory Xbox One consoles, but they do allow you to use external SSDs, as long as they are at least 240gb, USB 3.0, and formatted for Xbox! MOST IMPORTANT thing is to make sure you choose to format the drive correctly the first time you connect it to your Xbox One. I've had problems before where I cancelled out of the option to format it and my Xbox decided to stop allowing me to format it. (I solved that by just formatting it on a different Xbox One.) Less texture pop-in and quicker load times both contribute to a smoother and more immersive gaming experience. I'm done ranting- buy an SSD.
