Spontaneous flight home: BUCHAREST to NEWARK, USA & SSSS SECURITY CHECK (TAP Portugal) // 104

Without telling my family, I booked a flight home to New Jersey, USA for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays! I started the journey in Bucharest, Romania, taking my first flight (4 hours) to Lisbon, Portugal via TAP Portugal Airlines. From there, I caught my connection from Lisbon to Newark, New Jersey, an 8 hour flight. At the Lisbon airport, before boarding the flight to Newark, everyone at the gate was asked to leave the area and line up for a security check with the police. All of our boarding passes were checked again, some people were pulled out of the line, and I was one of them. The "SSSS" code on my boarding pass was circled, and I was kindly asked to go to the group of three officers to the side to submit to a "special procedure." The "SSSS" code on the boarding pass identified me as one of the lucky few to be specially selected (at random?) for additional security checks. It wasn't anything very violating. The officer dug through my bag a bit, gave me a thorough pat-down, tested my shoes and laptop for explosive residue, and double-checked my passport. It was a simple event, really. However, those who remained in line were subject to a one-on-one interview with agents. Because of my special "SSSS" code on my boarding pass, I didn't experience the interview and thus am not sure what it entailed. From what I hear, this is standard control for anyone entering the United States. After my long distance flight from Bucharest to Newark, I finally landed (17 hours after I left my AirBnB) in Newark Airport, NJ. In the next video you can see the surprised reactions of my unwarned family when they see me on their doorstep! :D See what's in my backpack: https://youtu.be/juf9ejsEEhg ______________________ MORE ABOUT Fearless Jacey: My Website: http://www.jaceyfraser.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fearlessjacey/ My Book, Fearless U: http://amzn.to/2nRhZgs HELP US BOTH: Rock an original "Be Fearless" SHIRT! https://teespring.com/stores/the-fearless-store Get PATREON rewards: https://www.patreon.com/FearlessJacey Get $40 AIRBNB credit: https://www.airbnb.com/c/jaceyf9 Get $25 for using this link at BOOKING.COM: https://www.booking.com/s/19_6/jacey325 Learn about TUBEBUDDY--My most-used YouTube tool: https://www.tubebuddy.com/Fearlessjacey _________________________________________________________________ Here you'll find my honest experience of traveling Europe for a year on a budget!
