Micron+ Build Series | Part 6 - Wiring Review and First Prints
Printer Build: FormBot Micron+ Colors: Black Frame, Fusion Filaments ABS 2.0 Red Dwarf, KVP ABS Fluorescent Blue Today we continue the Formbot Micron+ build project. The Micron+ is a PrintersForAnts scratch build that shrinks a Voron 2.4 down to use 1515 extrusions and a 180x180x180 build volume. Today we reviewed the completed wiring and how I cleaned up the wiring on the toolhead a bit. We also installed the side skirts and controller cooling fans to aid in keeping the electronics cool. We went through the Voron Design Initial Start documentation to ensure everything was mechanically sound and dialed in our PID Tune and eSteps. We then proceeded to perform a PROBE_CALIBRATE to set our initial z-height offset. It was now time to open Orca Slicer and create a quick printer profile (copied our SaladFork profile and modified the print volume) and setup a 120x120x0.4mm cube to dialin our first layer. Once that was done we printed a Squirrel as the first real print. This build will be our Weekday Build Stream (Tues & Thurs 5:30pm ET) content until finished. * * * If you like the content I provide please Follow and Subscribe to my channel to help me grow and bring more great content to the community.
