tori amos - taxi ride (live at le (poisson) rouge in new york city on october 5th, 2012)

: on this special occassion where a small group of contest winners were able to absorb an entire performance in downtown manhattan by tori amos, there were very few stones left unturned. every album of original material was represented (except night of hunters) and the crowd was enraptured. "taxi ride" hasn't been a part of the gold dust setlist overseas, so when it began, i think the whole room lost a breath. i know i gasped. "taxi ride' remains one of the absolute best songs from one of her most classic albums, scarlet's walk. the "no pictures allowed" speech was given prior to the show, but they didn't say anything about video, so i snuck this in for those who want to be a fly on the wall (or our cabaret-style seated table). my camera skills weren't so great because i could barely even function as a human on this planet during this performance. i was sweating just sitting there taking it in. the entire concert, however, is available for streaming at npr. get on it, ewf. :]
