Sun is a Shinin' original clawhammer banjo song
An original clawhammer banjo song called Sun is a Shinin' written by Joshua Cummings. It's in standard g tuning gDGBD and played on my new Matt Arcara banjo which I bought specifically for this song. Well, I did have this song in mind when i bought it but it was really nice sounding. I recently sold my octave mandolin and was on the market for a new banjo with a different sound. I went to the music emporium in Lexington, MA and kept coming back to this banjo so I bought it. It has a real nice tone. Anyways, I've been sitting on this nice chord progression for like 5 years and finally feel capable of putting words to it since I've been taking singing lesson. I'd like to give thanks to my wife for her vocal harmony's on the chorus and other sections. And thanks to Steve "the beard" Blonski for his nice organ work for the chorus section.
