[#1: Dec 10, 2022] The Eight Verses of Training the Mind - Geshe Konchog Kyab

Geshe Konchog Kyab will give teachings on The Eight Verses of Training the Mind the famous spiritual poem composed by the 11th century Tibetan Bodhisattva Geshe Langri Tangpa. This famous spiritual poem reveals the essence of the Mahayana path to enlightenment and is one of the most important texts from a genre of Tibetan spiritual writings known as LoJong (literally "mind training"). These teachings offer the means for transforming our self-centered attitudes into genuine altruism and reveals the essence of the Mahayana path to enlightenment. The first seven verses give the basis for a systematic training in the methods for cultivating compassion and Bodhichitta, the heart of the enlightened mind; the eighth verse deals with the practices that are directed toward cultivating the wisdom aspect of the path that enables us to see the true nature of reality. His Holiness the Dalai Lama refers to this work as one of the main sources of his own inspiration and includes it in his daily meditations.
