Story of BLIND FAITH | Supergroup Documentary
History of a supergroup featuring Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Rick Grech. This British blues-rock band never got a chance to succeed as it instantly became what Clapton was wanting to avoid. After Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker fought so much that Cream split up, Eric Clapton wanted to get away from it all by jamming with Stevie Winwood from Traffic in 1969. But all that quickly changed when Ginger Baker showed up one day. The group would go on to get Rick Grech from Family and were expected to be a band that would sell out stadiums around the world. The group performed a legendary free concert at Hyde Park on June 7th, 1969, created an excellent album with controversial cover artwork by Bob Seidemann, and had a 7 week tour of the US before breaking up later in 1969. Their most famous songs were "Can't Find My Way Home," "Had to Cry Today," and "Presence of the Lord." Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton had previously worked together in Eric Clapton and the Powerhouse for three songs on a compilation album called "What's Shakin'" in 1969. --- Support Blind Faith by buying their albums!
