Home Automation with Raspberry PI and ESP32
Hello friends! How is all? First of all i would like to wish you very happy new year to all Nepalese and Indian friends who follow Hindu calendar. I am here to demonstrate one of my project i have completed during my home quarantine period. I have named this as Smart Ghar. This project is built upon a Central Server with Raspberry PI and uses node-red with mqqt server all together in the raspberry pi itself. This is the main component of the system and i have named this as home-server, which is connected to my home network with Ethernet though it could be connected with WiFi also. The extension or further controller client boards can be added to the central server for the increasing demand of controlling the appliances. These extensions could be made with any device capable of MQTT protocol. However, i have used ESP32 DOIT DEV Kit V1 for my project, which is connected to my home network WiFi and communicate with my central server through the same. Currently due to the lock down and resources availability with myself i have used four appliances to control with a DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor. which is reading the data every 5 minutes and sends them to the central server. Which is then displayed with the Web GUI developed for easy control. I have also built an android application with web view for the easiest access to the server page for the people who wants too much ease for their job. The UI displays every data in real time and controls them accordingly. This system can be controlled and monitored from any digital device capable of surfing web as long as they are on the same network. Control or changes made from one place is reflected to all the connected control devices immediately.
