And that setting appears to be the Viking Age, as heavily rumored. BossLogic’s artwork shows what appears to be Viking warriors battling in a sun-drenched field on one side, and boats navigating icy waters on the other. A silhouette of what appears to be a Viking warrior bisects the two scenes. Beyond that, little is known about the new Assassin’s Creed. The game is slated to come out sometime in 2020 on unspecified platforms. Ubisoft’s teaser appears to affirm longstanding rumors, and an in-game tease hidden in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, which telegraphed the Viking theme for the new Assassin’s Creed game. The most recent entry in the historical open-world franchise, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, was released in October 2018. Odyssey took place in Ancient Greece and was set during the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. It starred Spartan warriors Alexios and Kassandra. Rumors have said that both the PS5 and Xbox Series X are likely getting their reveal before E3 was supposed to happen. Recent leaks have said that the game will double-down on the RPG elements that Origins and Odyssey introduces, and Valhalla could see the return of the Hidden Blade.
