Aperture 3.1 Image Import and Processing on a MacBook Air
We've been testing Aperture 3.1 with the new 13" MacBook Air to see how it would work in an on-location environment for image capture and processing. This test was with a 2GB/128 1.86Ghz, not the top-end 4GB with 2.13Ghz processor. This import was from 160 files from a mix of Canon 5D Mark II and Nikon D3s. You'll notice that importing and JPEG processing is incredibly fast, but processing is slower, which is to be expected since it's not a high-end processing machine. Our workflow will be to use this machine to capture images in the "wild" and do quick ratings and a little bit of editing and then bring the Library back to our faster work machines at the office.
