Syntax: Subject + was/were + -ing form of verb (Present Participle) + Object He was going to office. I, He, she, it, this: (was) We, you, they: (were Positive Sentences (Past Continuous) I was reading a book. میں کتاب پڑھ رہا ہوں۔ He was reading a book. وہ کتاب پڑھ رہا تھا۔ They were reading a book. وہ سب کتاب پڑھ رہے تھے۔ Negative Sentences (Past Continuous) Syntax: Subject + was/were + not + present participle + object He was not running. Past Continuous Sentences: I was not reading a book. میں کتاب نہیں پڑھ رہا تھا۔ He was not reading a book. وہ کتاب نہیں پڑھ رہا تھا۔ They were not reading a book. وہ کتاب نہیں پڑھ رہے تھے۔ Interrogative sentences (Past Continuous) Syntax: Was/Were + Subject + Present Participle + Object Was he running? Interrogative Sentences: Was I reading a book? کیا میں کتاب پڑھ رہا تھا ؟ Was he reading a book? کیا وہ کتاب پڑھ رہا تھا؟ Were they reading a book? کیا وہ کتاب پڑھ رہے تھے؟ Thank You
