Lubartowski Event Dec 13, 2020 Part 2
You are, once again, invited to come together, via Zoom, for the introduction of the new and greatly expanded Lubartowski Family Tree. The Tree now has almost 900 persons. It includes another Montreal branch, as well as a recently discovered Brazilian branch. It spans nine generations of Lubartowskis and four continents. Our Tree is alive and well, with deep, healthy roots. It is growing organically, without harmful chemicals, and is being nourished by the love and affection of all of us, but especially by our arborists, Danny Walkowitz (Paterson – Joseph family) and Clifford Gold (Montreal – Schprintse family). The Tree, along with family related photographs and documents, is an historical record of our family dating back to late eighteenth and early nineteenth century Poland. The process of caring for our Tree and documenting our shared heritage honors our beloved parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins who have passed on. It extends to the founders of our family, Jankiel and Sura, and their descendants who we know only through documents and perhaps old pictures. In a very real sense, our collective memorializing of those who are no longer with us, through this family project, brings them back to life. They live in our memories and our thoughts, and in our willingness to pass our remembrances to future generations. It is a blessing for us to do this. Following the presentation by Danny and Clifford, we will have an opportunity to get to know one another better by breaking out into informal chat rooms. If time permits, we can then reconvene together for further discussion. The date of the event is a day after Peggy Lubertofsky Lanfer’s (Montreal – David family) 92nd birthday. Although a day late, Peggy won’t mind us helping her celebrate a special day for a special person. The Tree has almost 900 names, many with photos attached. Please send photos of yourself and your family to Clifford, who will paste them in the Tree. Clifford’s email address is ctgold@telus.net.
