Elephant shows are popular in Asia, particularly Thailand. While many tourists take the chance to see these shows, they often don't see the treatment given to the elephants when they don't behave the way their trainer wants them to. This video from an Argentinian tourist shows the elephant being hit, hard, with the metal bullhook held by its trainer at the Namuang Safari Park in Ko Samui, Thailand. The reaction of the crowd is testament to what it felt like to be there.
