Over 5 positions: 00:00 - 07:56: STO 1.09173 : 0.8 pips, 00:00 - 07:56: STO 1.09173 : 0.8 pips, 00:00 - 07:56: STO 1.09173 : 0.8 pips, 01:55 - 03:42: STO 1.09185 : 1.7 pips, (0.2 pips slippage in my favour!), 05:43 - 07:50: STO 1.09189 : 1.5 pips. 'Market order' placed at 1.09163 & 1.09170, and later 1.09189 to close the positions: So that the trade is executed the moment the price reaches that level. It's MUCH quicker than me trying to catch it with a mouse click, as often the liquidity disappears before I even get chance to click! ESPECIALLY true in volatile market conditions - which are prevalent post-announcement, or in fast markets, or if many other market participants are using the 'Order Book' too! As a Scalper: take the profit when it is offered..... Too many times before, I hesitate, and the price is GONE! It's always good to take risk off the table.... Mid afternoon London PM Session, Early morning, New York AM Session. Waiting to see a continuation of the downtrend. 'In' & 'out' reasonably quickly (2 - 8 minutes), which is not too bad for scalping / ideal for day trading. NOT exactly how to scalp EUR/USD Euro € US$. However, not too bad..... Lines on the charts are: Exponential Moving Average 20 (EMA20) Exponential Moving Average 50 (EMA50) Exponential Moving Average 100 (EMA100) Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) As Rockefeller said "The secret of success is doing ordinary things exceptionally well"! The more hours I spend in front of the screen trading (albeit at minimum size, until I stop making so many silly mistakes and break my bad habits), the more I think that Rockefeller's is bang on the money: "The secret of success is doing ordinary things exceptionally well"! It's as simple as that! You have to do your opening and closing exceptionally well. You have to manage your emotions exceptionally well. You have to manage your risks exceptionally well. I also have Mike Bellafiore of SMB Capital to thank for many of his great YouTube videos. His concept of 'One Good Trade' has helped clarify the market for me. Think of it like this: The past is in the past, so don't let if affect you. You are here and now, and what matters is making your next trade the best it can be! Get that right, one trade at a time, and everything else should start to fall into place, and take care of itself. I think it's very true. These days, I don't think about making money. I just concentrate on getting the next trade 'right', or as good as I can get it.
