Watch Winder Design
Conceptual design, drafting, and modelling Color is important. It is one of the main factors causing people to like or dislike something. The first one I built was Black and Gold. Classic and fine. For the second one I want a military green camouflage color scheme. Picked three basic colors (khaki, olive green, dark green) to mix and match, and proved to look good in a draft modelling. The 3D model is straight forward because they are largely rectangular and cylinder blocks. Drill a hole to fit the motor in a correct location. The gears are from standard libraries adjusted to suitable size. I used two same-size gears to transmit movement from the motor to the rotating cup so that there is no change in torque and speed. The gears are thick and big. There is not much margin for them to skip or slip during operation, making them very durable. Prepare filaments of the wanted colors. PET-G or ABS can be used for better strength. My motor does not generate significant heat so that PLA can also be used for easier print.
