Why is the Ping so HIGH in Modern Warfare?!

Infinity Ward decided to add an in game ping meter for the launch of Modern Warfare but unfortunately, most people have been seeing extremely high latency values on this ping meter which is a huge cause for concern. Today I wanted to share with you why this ping is so high as well as some issues I've been having with connections so far.
