What is Truth? Christ & Pilate by Nikolai Nikolaevich Ge (1890)

I am not an art critic. This piece simply resonated deeply with me and I felt obligated to voice some thoughts. The 'flaming eyes' alluded to is from Revelation 19:12 I believe I used the word 'publican' erroneously. (Pilate was not a Jewish contractor for the state!) What I meant was 'politician'.
