Lab # 5 BGP Attribute Multi Exit Discriminator (MED)
In this video, BGP attribute Multi Exit Discriminator (MED) has been configured using emulator GNS 3. What is MED? MED: This attribute is also called Metric. Using MED, we tell other AS which route to use in order to reach our AS when multiple routes exists. MED with lower value is preferable. MED is used by the routers within AS it is sent to other ASs with updates. When the same update is sent to another AS the default value of MED is set back to the default 0. MED influences inbound while Local Preference influences outbound traffic.
