IGAD Support Drought Affected Communities in Wajir County

Following the worsening drought in the country, IGAD has stepped up distribution of relief food in Wajir county as hundreds of households reel under the pangs of hunger. Speaking during the distribution in Wajir town, Fatuma Ibrahim, IGAD representative said the food is meant for at least over 1,000 vulnerable households. Wajir Deputy Governor Ahmed Muhumed encouraged the community to come up with long-term solutions,especially in agriculture, to mitigate the effects of drought so in the future, there would be no need for relief food
