My Choice - Domingo/Carreras: Non ti Scordar di Me

Non Ti Scordar di Me (Do not forget me) was composed some 90 years ago by Ernesto De Curtis. It was sung by José Carreras and Placido Domingo in a tribute to the late Luciano Pavarotti in a concert in Petra in 2009. This song was composed by the Italian composer Ernesto De Curtis (1875 - 1937). De Curtis was born in Naples and was a great-grandson of composer Saverio Mercadante and the brother of poet Giambattista De Curtis, with whom he wrote the song "Torna a Surriento". Ernesto studied piano and received a diploma from the Conservatory of San Pietro a Maiella in Naples. Between 1900 and 1930 he wrote over a hundred songs; besides "Torna a Surriento".
