Why Playing Minecraft as an Adult is Taboo

I've been enjoying Minecraft as a creative outlet since the Alpha/Beta days of the game and I still play as a 20-something. I've always enjoyed the sandbox, creative element to the game but I've always kept it secret from people because it seems taboo to talk about. I'd like to break down the walls of playing Minecraft as a grown adult because it can be a great creative outlet for people among other things. Share your experiences below!
