#27 Percentage Closer Filtering | Shadow Mapping | OpenGL | GLSL | Computer Graphics | GPU Gems

Hello Reader, It's been a very long time since I have posted something of programming in a past few months, so presenting this small demonstration of shadow mapping technique using percentage closer filtering and OpenGL on Windows platform. Shadow mapping or shadowing projection is a process by which shadows are added to 3D computer graphics. Percentage closer filtering (PCF) can be applied to reduce aliasing. Instead of taking a single sample, the shadow map is sampled multiple times in a small radius around the original sample position. The results of these shadow tests are averaged, which means that a pixel can be partially shadowed.
