Encounters with Art event dedicated to Ara Harutyunyan
The Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA) organized an event in the scope of its "Encounters with Art" event series on June 7, 2018 featuring the exhibition "Ara Harutyunyan: Monumental Vision" aiming to present the rich artistic legacy of one of the most celebrated Armenian monumental sculptors of Soviet era. The speaker of the evening Armen Yesayants, Director of Exhibition at the Cafesjian Center for the Arts gave a comprehensive lecture-presentation on Ara Harutyunyan’s artistic legacy from early to late years of his creative life featuring his pivotal works, beyond those displayed in the scope of the exhibition at the same time drawing parallels with the CCA’s exhibition. The educational program "Re-Vision the Sculpture" carried out with much success in parallel to the exhibition Ara Harutyunyan: Monumental Vision was also featured during the event. The evening also showcased the premiere screening of the digital version of a documentary Film: "Sculptor Ara Harutyunyan" (Dir: R. Frangulyan, 1976) featuring the great sculptor. The old film was digitized by the CCA from its filmstrip format.
