Miami airport receives 940 million cut flowers for Valentine's Day
As of Feb. 14, agricultural specialists at Miami International Airport have processed about 940 million cut flowers, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
About 90 percent of fresh cut flowers sold for Valentine's Day in the United States pass through Miami, while the other 10 percent arrive through Los Angeles.

TikTok returns on Apple, Google US app stores as Trump delays ban
Feb 13 (Reuters) - TikTok returned to the U.S. app stores of Apple and Google on Thursday as President Donald Trump delayed a ban on the Chinese-owned social media app and assured the tech giants they would not be fined for distributing or maintaining it.
The popular short video app used by nearly half of all Americans went dark briefly last month, before a law took effect on January 19 that requires its Chinese owner ByteDance either to sell it on national security grounds or face a ban.The following day, Trump signed an executive order seeking to delay the enforcement of the ban by 75 days, allowing TikTok to continue its operations in the U.S. temporarily.
Although TikTok resumed service after Trump's assurances, Google (GOOGL.O), opens new tab and Apple (AAPL.O), opens new tab kept the app removed from their U.S. app stores.

USS Harry S. Truman Collides with Merchant Vessel in Mediterranean Sea
USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75), the flagship of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group, collided with M/V Besiktas-M around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday near Port Said, Egypt, in the Mediterranean Sea, the Navy said Thursday.
The carrier did not experience flooding and the crew did not report injuries, Cmdr. Tim Gorman, spokesperson for U.S. 6th Fleet said in a statement.
Truman‘s propulsion plants are unaffected. The collision is under investigation with no more information immediately available. A Navy official told USNI News that damage was above the waterline of the carrier.

Snowfall blankets state, expected to affect morning commute as snow continues overnight
Snowfall continued to blanket much of Michigan on Wednesday night and was expected to bring steady accumulations into Thursday morning though "on the lower end" of what had been expected, meteorologists said.
Earlier, schools canceled classes and preparations began for what was billed as a major snowstorm for Lower Michigan.
The weather service's Gaylord post, which forecasts weather for the northern part of Lower Michigan and the far eastern part of the Upper Peninsula, said the greatest snowfall totals there were expected on in the eastern part of the region, on Lake Huron, including Alpena and Oscoda.

Kilauea volcano began erupting and shooting lava into the air once again Tuesday on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Kilauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes, has been erupting on and off for nearly two months since it burst to life on Dec. 23. The eruption has been taking place at the volcano's summit crater inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. No residential areas have been threatened by lava.
The latest release of molten rock began 10:16 a.m. with lava flowing on to the floor of Halemaumau Crater. A half-hour later, a vent shot lava about 330 feet high. By early Wednesday morning, officials said lava fountains were reaching 16-200 feet high."Current hazards include volcanic gas emissions and windblown volcanic glass (Pele's Hair) that may impact Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park and nearby communities," the U.S. Geological Survey's Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said in a statement.

Major earthquake shakes Caribbean, tsunami threat subsides for islands
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - A Tsunami Advisory was in effect for Puerto Rico and nearby islands for part of Saturday evening after a powerful earthquake struck between Honduras and the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean Sea.
The quake, with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6, prompted authorities to warn of potential sea-level fluctuations and strong ocean currents that could pose a hazard to boaters and beachgoers.
No damage was reported in the immediate aftermath of the major quake which was centered more than 100 miles southwest of George Town in the Cayman Islands, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
According to the U.S. National Tsunami Warning Center, the largest water rise reported occurred on a Mexican island off the coast of the Yucatán.
An observation site at Isla Mujeres recorded a 1.2-inch increase in sea level, and while this might sound insignificant, the event is still classified as a tsunami, according to the NTWC.
